In the not too distant future Jason Hammel, Abby Wheatley and Shannon Able are being held captive and forced to watch B-grade movies in the Liberty Theater’s Satellite of Love. We kick off the series Friday May 17 with Spider Baby – a 1967 black horror comedy film. It stars Lon Chaney, Jr. as Bruno, the chauffeur and caretaker of three orphaned siblings who suffer from “Merrye Syndrome“, a genetic condition starting in early puberty that causes them to regress mentally, socially and physically.
You should anticipate that the captives’ torture will be expressed in strongly PG-13 terms and take that into consideration before bringing young children.
Entry is FREE, but donations to benefit the theater are appreciated. As always, concessions ($1 popcorn and most drinks, $1.50 candy) are available in the lobby.
Doors will open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7.
