Fundraiser featuring Kelley Hunt at the Liberty Theater

Hosts Kaye and Ken Carr invite you to share in the 1st annual Historic Liberty Theater Concert Fundraiser honoring Kaye’s parents, Bill and Lois Murphy. Bill and Lois were longtime supporters of the Liberty Theater, running it as a non-profit after its reopening, and Lois continues to attend events here.

Kelley Hunt, a member of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, has been sharing her blues- and roots-based music since the mid-90’s, and has regularly visited our area over the years. Kelley’s a great singer, songwriter, and performer, and we know you’ll enjoy seeing her on the Historic Liberty Theater stage. Check out some of her performances on Youtube below (note that she’s playing solo at the Liberty).

Bill Carr, grandson of Bill and Lois, will open the concert at 7 p.m.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 and available locally at Molly’s Pint or from Ken Carr at 618.303.1157, or online at

Ticket and concession proceeds will go to keeping the Liberty Theater hosting entertainment and community events for the people of Murphysboro and the rest of Southern Illinois. In addition to Kaye and Ken Carr, sponsors include:

The First Bank and Trust Company of Murphysboro

Murphysboro Knights of Columbus Council #988
